Dubai investment property

Although the so called 'Credit Crunch' has taken out a large bite of many economies, the market for investment property in Dubai still seems to be active. This in itself isn't too surprising when you think about the sort of people who buy into Dubai and similar exotic areas, quite a lot of whom have serious money to put into investments, after all, one is not looking to invest in a semi detached in Manchester here, more like luxury apartments and villas with water frontages with an International ambience, beaches and a climate to die for.

We have what is nigh on a world recession but good property in an upscale area, along with fine wines, still remains one of the better investment opportunities, and if things go completely belly up in the property market you can at least live in your Dubai villa until things settle down, but as for the wine you can only drink it, and nice as that would be you will just end up with a bigger hangover, so invest in property instead.

Click here to see some Jan 2009 news on Dubai.  As you would expect, retail and service industries for tourism seem to be down at present, as the majority of holiday makers may be downscaling their travel plans with the current atmosphere.  Although there are aparrent downturns in rental demand - again, as you would expect - the pressure on Dubai to remain one of 'the places to invest in' means that there is likely to be a lot of effort by the government there to keep it so.

The chief executive of Omniyat Holdings, Mehdi Amjad, said earlier this year (2008) that property real estate prices in Dubai will continue to soar until at least 2009 when a boost in housing supply will balance the market out. To quote him further, “I don’t think property prices will drop or that the market will suffer a correction. There’s no reason for the market to adjust, we have a lot of people moving to the region, strong buyer sentiment and plenty of liquidity,” Amjad told ArabianBusiness.com in an interview, all of which bodes well for the property investment market.

Dubai boasts certain things, such as a stable Government, a booming population and a promising property market which combine to bolster investor confidence in the area.

You don't need our comments on this page to remind you that Dubai is THE place to be for ex pats and retirees with enough disposable income to buy into the property market, not just as an investment but for a place to put down roots and live in the incredibly varied cosmopolitan atmosphere which Dubai has to offer, the jewel of the Persian Gulf.
